The Feelings of an Army Wife
It's staying awake til 4 in the morning waiting to hear your husbands voice on the other end of the phone when your babies wake up at 7...
Its checking the mail every five minutes starting at 10 in the morning when you know the mail never comes til 2.....
Its the butterflies in your stomache when theres a letter in your mailbox with the words "free mail" in the upper right hand corner....
the feeling of excitement when the caller i.d. reads unavailable and the disapointment when its only a telmarketer....
Its watching your husband quickly pack, trying to hold back your tears...
Its watching his bus drive away til its out of sight with tears streaming down your face and a baby on your hip....
Its explaining to your children why daddys not home anymore....
Its the fear that overcomes you when you hear " More Soldiers died today in Iraq" on the news....
Its knowing the real meaning of glued to the tv....
Its the fear of watching the news but the need to do so....
Its counting down the days til he comes home....
Its knowing how you felt when you were a child waiting for Christmas to come all over again....
Its his love alone that keeps you going....
Its being an Army Wife....
