My Navy SEAL

My Navy SEAL

I am not a Navy wife but I am a Navy mom. I wrote a poem I would like to share
with you.

Unsung hero's of the day and night,
They are ready to go, ready to fight.
Their name will never be front page news,
Nor ever make the column of who's who.
Honor and pride must come from within,
No one must know where they have been.
They are America's best,
With their lives on the line they face the test.
They come and go in places we know not of,
They do it for us, a labor of love.
When my SEAL goes out, his job to do,
My heart stands still till once again I hear, Mom I love you.
Of some things he has done he is not proud,
And things still hold his heart captive in a shroud.
I long for the day when he will be set free,
To once again be that little boy who sat on my knee.
His heart and soul set free to fly,
No more nightmares to make him cry.
The horrors he faced are forever there,
Lord help him to know his pain you share.

I wrote this for my son. I am sure it speaks for most if not all mothers who
have watched their sons and daughters go off into the service. I am very proud
of my son and will fight as passionately to defend him and his actions as I
would for my country.
Thank you for this opportunity to share my heart with you.
God bless you,
Marty Thomas
