Discounted Tickets for military for Concert celebrating our national anthem

WASHINGTON, DC- The National Anthem Project, led by The National Association for Music Education (MENC), is a multi-year campaign to re-teach the words and significance of our national anthem and spotlight the importance of school music education. The National Anthem Project will culminate in Washington, D.C. this summer with a momentous rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" on Flag Day, June 14, followed by two days of memorable, family-friendly activities. Military families are offered this special invitation to join MENC, the Drum Corps International and American Musical Salute for the historic Grand Finale celebrations.

The National Anthem Project Grand Finale will include spectacular events from June 14-June 16. Thousands of students, educators and families from across the country will join together on June 14 to restore America's voice and sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Sylvan Theater on the Washington Monument grounds. The "President's Own" United States Marine Band will host their annual Flag Day concert of patriotic selections at 12:30 p.m. Promptly at 2:00 p.m., the Oak Ridge Boys, the Official Musical Ambassadors of the National Anthem Project, will join the Marine Band in leading the amazing rendition of the national anthem.

On June 15, hundreds of school ensembles will perform the national anthem and other patriotic songs at monuments, memorials and other venues throughout Washington, D.C.

The final event of the National Anthem Project will take place on Saturday, June 16 in Annapolis, Md. Drum Corps International, comprised of the world's most elite and exclusive marching music ensembles, will host a spectacular evening of family entertainment at the United States Naval Academy's Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Six of the world's finest drum corps will compete on "opening day" of the 2007 Summer Music Games Tour, which encompasses some 140 events throughout North America. In a venue steeped with patriotism and honoring those who have served and who continue to serve our country, the setting will be certain to dominate the senses as thousands of band, choir and orchestra students from across the nation join with these world class drum corps for one historic evening commemorating our national anthem.

All National Anthem Project finale events are open to the public and pre-registration is encouraged. The Drum Corps International competition is the only event that requires the purchase of a ticket whereas all other activities, including the Flag Day event, are free.
