ENGINEER PIER CLOSED
Fort Monroe’s Engineer Pier, a popular public fishing site, will be closed until further notice starting at 6 p.m., July 22. Military police officials said the pier’s closure is a result of safety measures being taken as a result of the installation’s expanding seawall repair project.
The post’s Finger Pier and jetties will remain closed, and Mill Creek will remain open to Department of Defense ID card holders (active and retired) and their immediate family members.
Officials said signs will be placed at Engineer Pier and at the post’s McNair Gate entrance to remind the public of the closure.
For more information, contact the Fort Monroe Military Police at 788-2238 or 788-2239.
